I have been a learning experience designer and content developer for over 5 years, designing and executing the end-to-end learning experience for a diverse range of learners covering a variety of skills and concepts and maintaining my organization’s Learning Management Systems (LMSs).  I have managed and collaborated with several cross-functional teams, leading to the development of organization-wide training programs and resources, utilizing the design thinking process to analyze data, identify gaps, and design solutions. I have lead teams through the development of new, innovative processes and programs and scaling them throughout the organization.  I am skilled at designing engaging and relevant visual aids and graphics, producing multimedia (A/V, infographics, etc.), and managing organization-wide projects.

Amplified EDU – Contract

Curriculum Designer

Designed and developed inquiry-based, in-person learning experiences for over 200 users while utilizing Adult Learning Principles (ADDIE), including facilitator presentation and learner materials.

  • Organized complex information into engaging, interactive learning activities, including simulations, models, and experimentation.

  • Designed replicable templates to increase efficiency and ensure consistency across all content assets.

Santa Clara County Office of Education – Contract

Instructional Designer

Developed and published an interactive, self-paced online training module for over 450 users using Articulate Rise 360 while utilizing Adult Learning Principles (Merrill’s Principles of Instruction).

  • Consulted with Project Manager and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to develop learning solutions that ensured mastery of learning objectives using videos, articles, graphics, mastery practice, reflection questions, and assessment activities.

  • Incorporated graphics, videos, reflection exercises, and other interactive elements to engage learners and enhance their learning experience.  Designed accompanying job aids using Adobe Express and Google Slides.

California Teacher Innovation Network Professional Development Design Team

Collaborated with a cross-functional team to design and launch a statewide virtual professional development workshop series for over 100 educators utilizing the design thinking process.

  • Performed needs assessment of educators through interviews, empathy and journey maps, and surveys, leading to two different learning pathways identified through needs analysis. 

  • Developed the Bug Project Workbook, a project guidebook to enable users to utilize the design thinking process to identify and solve problems in their community.  Produced an accompanying video that supports users through implementation.

  • Facilitated a 3-part workshop series on design thinking and coached educators statewide on implementing the design thinking process in their classrooms and how to scale the process throughout their school site.

Campbell School of Innovation – August 2021 to Present

Learning Experience Designer – Creativity and Design

Pioneered and launched a new course focused on designing learning experiences that integrate creativity and technology by developing and facilitating 9 new curricula for over 700 learners, including units on podcasting, graphic design, digital storytelling, design thinking, UX design, and video game design, leading to lesson designs and curricula being adopted at multiple sites throughout the organization.

  • Conducted user research through interviews and surveys with stakeholders, learners, and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to identify learning objectives, learner gaps, interests, and essential skills.

  • Developed course scopes and sequences and clearly explained complex concepts through identifying learning objectives, backwards mapping content, determining essential skills, identifying checkpoints for understanding, designing hands-on activities, and developing project-based assessments.

  • Produced training videos, custom graphics, content assets, and presentations using Camtasia, Snag-it, YouTube, Google Slides, Adobe Express, Canva, and Google Drawings.

  • Designed structures and aids to accommodate different levels and modality preferences of learners, provide support to avoid common misconceptions, and to ensure accessibility to material.

  • Tracked program success and evaluated effectiveness of each unit through observation, participant feedback, surveys, quality of participant deliverables, and participant engagement, resulting in 95% participation and 90% positive feedback from users.  Leveraged analytics to guide decisions and improve lesson content design and effectiveness.

Design Thinking Coach

Collaborated with a cross-functional team to design professional development workshops and provide personalized coaching and training for 9 departments to support the acquisition and application of design thinking methodologies and design abilities.

  • Facilitated collaboration sessions with a 6-person cross-functional team to design quarterly professional development workshops for 40 employees to support content knowledge and application through hands-on exploration, connections to prior experiences, and co-designing materials for immediate use with learners.  Established overall objectives, identified key deliverables for each component, and assigned projects to team members.  Monitored progress throughout project’s life cycle, providing support as needed.

  • Designed realistic learning timelines that ensured relevant, timely delivery of content that met the needs of the organization and stakeholders.

  • Provided regular status updates to team and stakeholders throughout projects’ life cycle via Slack and Google Workspace, ensuring on-schedule and high-quality delivery.

Campbell Union School District – August 2016 to 2021

Digital Innovation Coach

Developed and facilitated trainings, designed content and job aids, and provided 1-to-1 coaching to support employees on utilizing technology to support learner content creation and innovation.  Analyzed data to iterate and improve offerings, refine goals and action items, and pivot focus as needed.

  • Collaborated with a cross-functional, agile team to develop and implement the department’s 3 Year Technology and Innovation Plan to support district scaling and growth of effective and innovative integration of technology, achieving 90% of targeted goals prior to the pandemic.

  • Conducted needs assessment through interviews, observations, surveys, and usage data.  Performed needs analysis to identify training and resource needs of employees and students, leading to development of: a gamified eLearning professional development program, adoption and onboarding of 3 new learning management systems (LMSs), 3 summer workshops, and the creation of the d.Studio, a professional development space for employees.

  • Spearheaded transition to remote learning through guiding a remote, agile team and conducting needs assessment and analysis, leading to the development of over 30 training webinars on tool implementation and remote learning pedagogy, 10 digital guidebooks on a variety of SaaS tools, weekly informational newsletters, over 30 job aids on various tools, 2 resource websites to support over 500 stakeholders, and adapting over 50 learning activities for digital learning and assessment.  Continually monitored training and support needs, pivoting focus as needed.

  • Collaborated with a 7-person cross-functional team to create project schedules to onboard and scale organization initiatives and program adoptions for over 5,000 stakeholders.  Utilized data analytics to track performance and usage of content by learners and inform future projects.

  • Managed a team of 10 employees to develop and scale technology and innovation programs at their site.  Provided support and monitored progress through setting goals, establishing timelines and action plans, maintaining consistent communication, collaborating, providing constructive feedback, and celebrating achievements.

  • Successfully implemented and managed an organization-wide gamified professional development program for over 250 employees, resulting in increased employee engagement and skills development through the completion of 400 micro-learning trainings within 2 years.  Collaborated with a cross-functional team to identify 5 learning pathways, leading to the development of self-guided, interactive online content and assessments to align with organization objectives and to meet the needs of employees across different departments.
